Guia Rio is an initiative of the Municipal Secretariat of Tourism of the City of Rio de Janeiro (SMTUR-RIO) created to promote and highlight the city’s tourist attractions through an official, accessible, and multilingual digital platform. In line with SMTUR-RIO’s mission to develop public policies aimed at strengthening tourism, the portal brings together reliable information on the historical, cultural, and scientific heritage of Rio de Janeiro, helping to enhance the quality of the visitor experience and reinforce the city’s image as a leading national and international tourist destination.

The platform functions as an interactive guide, presenting attractions organized into themed itineraries with descriptive videos, explanatory texts, map locations, visitor information, and accessibility features such as descriptive texts, subtitled videos, audio descriptions, and specific iconography. Available in Portuguese, English, Spanish, French, German, and Chinese (Mandarin), guia.rio is optimized for computers, tablets, and mobile devices, allowing domestic and international tourists to plan their visits and explore the city’s main points of interest in a simple, inclusive, and safe way, with content that is continuously expanded and updated.
